Environmental Graphics Celebrate Innovation

In 2020  Phoebe Health, opened a new simulation and innovation center at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Training in the Phoebe Health Simulation & Innovation Center will enhance patient safety and provide innovative opportunities for workforce development. In addition to team and individual training, new employee orientation takes place in the dynamic environment, introducing the mission, vision, and values of the health system.

During the design phase of the project, Heurista was engaged to provide a donor wall in the lobby, naming opportunity recognition throughout the space, and environmental graphics outside the multipurpose rooms where employee orientation is held. The donor recognition follows guidelines established for all projects funded through gifts to the Phoebe Foundation, although the design and materials are customized to the Sim Lab environment.

MISSION To empower every member of the Phoebe Family to safeguard the health of our communities—embracing a culture that delivers great patient experiences, innovative treatments, and access to superior care.”

VISION To make every life we touch better.

VALUES Safety • Service • Commitment • Compassion • Community

The graphics in the hallway help provide information to visiting groups, trainees, and new employees during orientation. As they walk through the center, they identify the Phoebe mission vision and values, explain the benefits of simulation, and showcase examples of simulation in use at Phoebe.

For complex projects like this, why go it alone? Heurista is uniquely poised to assist in these types of large placemaking and donor recognition endeavors. For nearly three decades, the Heurista team has been working with the Phoebe Foundation and the Phoebe Health System. The primary donor recognition display, the Distinguished Leadership Gallery, was one of the first donor recognition projects Heurista President and Founder, Anne Manner-McLarty, worked on…way back in 1996! Over time, we have developed recognition standards and guidelines that have informed projects on all campuses, creating experiences that excite and engage patients, family, staff, and the community at large.
