Every organization faces staff changes. Key people retire, new people join the team, and the requirements of the job grow and change over time. Heurista was engaged by Teachers College to consult on upcoming staffing changes on the donor relations team and the need to better integrate technology and research on donor behavior into plans that would be submitted for leadership approval. By better tracking current and desired practices, Teachers College was able to identify next practices in keeping with the size of the team and culture of the organization.

Outcomes

  • The assessment resulted in a written recommendations report provide three key directives:

    • Provide greater consistency and authenticity in the work product delivered to donors. Doing so will build brand awareness among donors while also easing the workload.

    • Develop individual work plans an a culture of shared work review and iteration.

    • Monitor trends in donor preferences and behavior to inform evolving practices.
