Open House and Printmaking Party

On January 16, we hosted an open house for dear friends and colleagues to celebrate the reopening of our new space. As at many open houses, we had hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Folks were taken on tours of the remodel, we had work displaying on screens around the office, and a fair amount of chitchat was to be had. However, we took a nontraditional approach and added in a printmaking workshop. Using the art style known as collagraphy, guest created plates using precut letters we made with our Cricut, and added decoration with wall paper samples and other bits and pieces. Paperboard, cardboard, and foam board were the options for the substrate.

Guests could take as many prints as they’d like and we kept the plates. The result will be two frames, one with the plates and one with the prints that will hang in our office to commemorate this fun event and a new era for Heurista.
