Children’s Cancer Partners
of the Carolinas

Heurista was contacted by Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas during a time of change. The organization had adopted a name change and gone through and exciting rebrand. The CCPC team was lead by an imaginative and energetic executive director and had newly hired an innovative fundraiser. And yet, the need for support and services to help families realize the best possible care for their children facing cancer was growing, too. CCPC needed to grow faster and attract new donors.
What initially began as a conversation about stewardship and recognition for existing donors soon expanded to an assessment and strategic communications and donor engagement plan. With a small staff, CCPC would need to make every message do double work as awareness and affinity-building as well as vision setting and recognition of success. CCPC was receptive to Heurista’s style of consultation and adopted many of the new ideas presented. Most notably, the title and format of the annual report took on a forward-focus, as you can see in the 2025 Outlook Report.

Outcomes

  • Program assessment with Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas took place entirely remotely. Nine weekly video calls allowed for discovery and data gathering, assessment and discussion, ideation, goal-setting, and initial testing of new ideas. Quarterly followup calls continued for the following year as the CCPC team integrated new ideas.
